The Clinical Effectiveness of Acemetacin (Mostanol^(¢ç)) in Patients with Chronic Arthritis



Abstract
To evaluate the therapeutic effectiveness and side reaction of acemetacin in 90 patients with chronic arthritis, who included 39 rheumatoid arthritis, 41 degenerative arthritis, and 10 ankylosing spondylitis.
The results were as follows;
1) The effectiveness was good, in 53 patients(58.9%), moderate in 16 patients (17.8%), and slight in 10 patients (11. 1%) in terms of joint pain, joint swelling, joint tenderness and duration of morning stiffness.
2) The side reactions were noticed in 12 patients (13.3%), which were mild and disappeared even with the continuance of medication.
It was concluded from above data that acemetacin is useful drug in the management of chronic arthritic inflammation in respect to therapeutic effectiveness and tolerability.
